App Store Connect Analytics

App Store Connect Analytics is Apple's own native reporting on impressions, product page views, conversion, and retention for your app, distinct from and complementary to third-party ASO tools.

Apple's native analytics reports what already happened to your live app: which search terms led to impressions and installs, how conversion varies by source, and how users retain after install. This is ground-truth performance data for the keyword set you're currently running.

Third-party keyword research tools, including ASOGrade, answer a different question: not what happened, but what could happen if you changed your keywords. They score candidate terms for demand and difficulty before you commit character space to them, which native analytics can't do since it only reports on terms already in your live metadata.

Used together, native analytics tells you which of your current keywords are working, and keyword research tools tell you which untried candidates are worth testing next. Neither replaces the other.

Frequently asked questions

Can App Store Connect tell me the difficulty of a keyword I don't rank for yet?
No. Native analytics only reports on search terms already driving impressions to your live app. Evaluating a keyword you haven't targeted yet requires a research tool that reads the current ranking set independent of your own metadata.
