What App Store storefront should a US-based app launch in first?

The US storefront is the default starting point for a US-based app, but check keyword difficulty before assuming it's the right primary market — it's also the single most competitive storefront, so a secondary English market can sometimes be the faster path to real ranking traction.

The US carries the largest English-speaking search volume by far, which is exactly why it also carries the highest difficulty for most competitive terms. There's no way around evaluating both sides of that tradeoff with real popularity and difficulty numbers for your specific category.

Launching in the US doesn't preclude an early secondary push into Canada, the UK, or Australia, which typically require zero translation and often show meaningfully lower difficulty for identical English-language terms.
